Stringing course — the 4-knot method, 3 h at the workshop

“By the end of the session, the racquet on the machine is one you strung.”

€200, about three hours, at the workshop. One racquet strung from start to finish, by you, on a professional machine: removing the old string, cutting the right length, mounting, mains, crosses, four knots, final checks.

A method, not a recipe. Order of the mains, the centre filled one side then the other, clamps set to hold without crushing, extra tension before each knot: every move is explained by what it prevents — a distorted frame, a marked string, lost tension. It works on any machine: electronic, crank or drop-weight.

What you take home. The workshop's illustrated 12-page stringing guide, and the online stringing assistant, to find every step on your phone, next to your machine. Both are in French.

After the course. A question in front of your machine: you write, the workshop answers — with no time limit.
