Custom handle fitted at the workshop — handle included

Price

€39.90

“You send the racquet, it comes back fitted.”

The same custom handle — your exact grip size, your exact length, made for the frame you already play with — with the fitting done at the workshop. You send the racquet, we take off the old pallet, bond the new handle on, and send it back assembled and ready to string.

€39.90, handle included. Return shipping is charged on top and is not included in this price.

Your exact grip size. Half sizes included, and the ones in between. No stack of overgrips to fake a size that was never made.

Your exact length. From 26 to 28 inches, in quarter-inch steps. A quarter of an inch is worth about nine swingweight points and changes the leverage you have on the ball — the one dimension a retail frame never lets you choose.

It fits any racquet. Any brand, any mould, junior or adult.

It opens at the butt. Mass goes in and comes out later to move balance, recoilweight and MGR/I without touching swingweight, so tuning stays open long after the handle is on.

How it works. Order, then send the racquet to the workshop, in Normandy — the shipping details go out with your order confirmation. Allow two weeks from the day it arrives.

One thing to know. A new handle does not weigh exactly what the old one weighed, so mass and balance move. If you want the frame brought back to the values it had, or to new ones, say so with your order — that is the customisation service, and it happens in the same visit.

Handle alone, or fitted at the workshop

Fitted at the workshop — €39.90, handle included. This page. You send the racquet, it comes back assembled. Return shipping on top.

Handle alone — €19.90. Made to your measurements and sent to you; you take the old pallet off and bond the new one on yourself.

On a Matcheur frame the custom handle is included in the price of the frame — there is nothing to order here.

A leather grip (€14.90) can go on the new handle in the same pass, and the racquet can leave strung rather than bare.

Your size, not the nearest size

Grip sizes are sold in whole steps, so most players end up on the nearest one and correct it with overgrips or by sanding a pallet. Both work, and both change the shape as well as the size. Here you give the size you want, half steps included — and if you sit between two, say so in the comment box.

Length, and what it actually changes

From 26 to 28 inches in quarter-inch steps. A quarter of an inch moves the swingweight by about nine points and changes the leverage you have on the ball: longer reaches further and weighs more in the swing, shorter comes round faster. It is the one dimension a retail frame never lets you choose, and the one most worth choosing.

Shipping and lead time

The racquet goes to the workshop, in Normandy; the shipping details go out with your order confirmation. Allow two weeks from the day it arrives. Return shipping is charged on top of the €39.90. A repair, a paintjob, a setup or a stringing can be ordered in the same shipment — tell us when you order and we will give you the lead time for the whole job.
