What the measurement says
Linear density 1.65 g/m, elongation 7.6% — a single point, read at stringing tension, and that is not where the ball meets the string. On the bench, in 1.25, the N°4 gives 0.65 mm per extra kilo between 15 and 25 kg, and 1.25 mm per extra kilo between 31 and 39 kg: its compliance nearly doubles as the load rises, and it is the only string in the range that behaves this way. A 3 cm deflection of the string bed takes a central main from 24 kg to around 30 kg, 4 cm past 33 kg — that upper band is where the N°4 gives its length. Measured over 180 mm of stretched section, in quasi-static tension: the bench establishes the order and the relative magnitude, not the absolute tension reached during contact. Gauges & structure
Octagonal section: eight edges that grip the felt and release the string on the way back (snapback). Gauges 1.15 / 1.20 / 1.25 mm. A thinner gauge bites more and returns more spin but wears faster; a thicker one lasts longer and moves toward neutral.
