Matcheur N°5 — 12 m Set
€7.90
“Neutral, edge to edge.”
A balanced round monofilament: the most neutral behaviour in the range. Read at stringing tension it is the softer of the two mid-range strings; loaded the way a struck ball loads it, it closes up and returns the same thing whatever the commitment. Soft under the hand, firm at impact — that is what makes it predictable, and what makes it last, since a string that deforms less notches less.
Specs: round monofilament · 1.64 g/m · 9.1% elongation · 1.25 / 1.30 mm · 12 m set.
Profile: neutral, even, predictable — N°5 on the scale.
→ Read: at impact, your string is not at the tension you strung it

The Matcheur scale — N°1 to N°7
One range, readable end to end: from N°1, the softest and most powerful, to N°7, the stiffest and most controlled — with N°4 at the balance point. You don't change brand when your game changes, you change number. Each number stands for a measured behaviour, not a marketing name.
What the measurement says
Linear density 1.64 g/m, elongation 9.1% — same chemistry as the N°4.5, without the edges. Read at stringing tension the N°5 is the softer of the two mid-range strings, but that reading point is not where you play. On the bench, in 1.25, it gives 0.90 mm per extra kilo between 15 and 25 kg and 0.63 mm between 31 and 39 kg: its compliance drops by about a third as the load rises, where the N°4's nearly doubles. Soft in the hand, firm at impact — and the same answer whatever the commitment, which is what makes it predictable and what makes it last, since a string that deforms less notches less. Measured over 180 mm of stretched section, in quasi-static tension: the bench establishes the order and the relative magnitude, not the absolute tension reached during contact. Every figure in the range is measured the same way: the numbers compare against each other. At impact, your string is not at the tension you strung it
Gauges & structure
A classic round section, built for neutrality: nothing in the shape steers the ball. Gauges 1.25 / 1.30 mm.

12 m — one racquet, one stringing. Past ten stringings a year, the 200 m reel costs less per stringing. Matcheur N°5 — 200 m reel
