A broken racquet is not always a finished racquet.
A crack usually sends one frame to the bin and another to the basket. That is a shame, because carbon can be rebuilt: the damaged material is taken out, the layup is redone, the area is cured again. The workshop developed this for breaks that replacing handles faster, but not better.
The diagnosis. How far the crack runs, where it goes in the structure, what it does to stiffness and to the string bed. Some very extensive breaks cannot be repaired; if yours is one of them we tell you straight away and refund the service.
The rebuild. Successive layers and the appropriate epoxy resins, to bring the area back to a stiffness and a stability close to the original.
Proven, not promised. This is not an experiment. The method has been in use for more than four years, on several hundred players' racquets, including at a high level of play. Repaired frames go back on court and stay there.
Grommets as well. A split grommet or a crushed bumper strip cuts the string during stringing and skews the tension before the first rally. They can be replaced on their own, or along with a frame repair — and they are inspected as a matter of course whenever a frame comes through the workshop.
Which racquets. Most carbon composite frames, any brand. The frame keeps its own behaviour, which is a large part of the reason to repair rather than replace: a racquet you know does not have to be learned again.
How it works. Order the service and send the racquet to the workshop, in Normandy — the shipping details go out with your order confirmation. Allow two weeks from the day it arrives.

Before you send your racquet
Where to send it. The pick-up point goes out with your order confirmation. Put your name and your order number in the parcel, or write them on the outside.
- Take the strings out if the frame is broken, and remove the overgrip if there is one.
- Wrap the frame in bubble wrap or a cover; a long box works well.
- A packed 27″ frame runs 72 to 75 cm long, and a Mondial Relay locker stops at 64 cm. Your parcel goes to a staffed pick-up point — the one named in your confirmation — not to a locker.
- This is a manual process and it leaves some excess material on the repaired area. That excess is uneven and may be visually imperfect — the photos on this page show it as it is.
- The repair adds roughly 2 to 4 g to the frame.

What a repair does not give back
A repaired frame is not a new frame. The excess shows, the mass goes up by 2 to 4 g, and the setup moves with it. None of that stops you playing, but you are better off knowing beforehand. If the figures matter to you, the customisation service brings the frame back to its values after the repair, in the same shipment.
Stringing afterwards
A repaired frame comes back unstrung. Add Stringing to the same order and we fit it before the frame goes back, in the same shipment.

Shipping and lead time
Send the racquet by Mondial Relay to the pick-up point named in your order confirmation. Allow two weeks from the day it arrives. A paintjob, a setup or a stringing can be ordered in the same shipment — tell us when you order and we will give you the lead time for the whole job.
